All students under the age of 28* (on 1st October 2012) are required to take out the French Social Security health coverage whether they come to Rennes for one semester or for one year (2011/2012 = 203€). This is compulsory even if students have taken out insurance in their home country (even if asked by the French Embassy or by their home institutions). It is illegal for students to attend French schools if they do not have this coverage.

Exemptions: students from Europe who can provide, on arrival, the European Health Insurance card in their name and valid for the length of their studies at ESC Rennes.

Private insurances cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

puce Visas

All students living in a non-European country will have to apply for a visa. Please check with your nearest Campusfrance agency, French Embassy or Consulate.

On acceptance at ESC Rennes School of Business you will receive the official acceptance letter in English, its translation into French (for visa purposes) and an additional letter in French for the Embassy/CampusFrance. As soon as you receive these immediately sign up with your nearest CampusFrance Agency or if there is no CampusFrance Agency at you nearest French Embassy or Consulate http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/espaces_dedies.php3?id_rubrique=2192 (click on country files to find the address of the French Embassy or Consulate in your home country).

N.B. You do not have to have an address in Rennes when you apply for the visa; this is stated in the letter for the Embassy/CampusFrance officials.

Only students with “ETUDIANT” written on their visa have to go through the Ofii procedure.

The Ofii form replaces the residence permit for your first year in France. It will enable you to travel in the Schengen-member countries and will entitle you to the housing allowance (once you have had the medical visit in Rennes after arrival). If you do not go through this formality, you may not be able to re-enter France in the future.
