| Abstract
|
| This paper
is a tongue in-cheek appraisal of the dysfunctional
relationship between management research and
the practice of management, which nevertheless
formulates serious views on intellectual and
sociological roots of the malaise, advocates
a definite philosophical stance rooted in
Pragmatism, and outlines workable, albeit
radical, proposals for the redesign of academic
institutions and of the publishing process.
We propose that management education be limited
to post-experience graduate level, that professors
become practitioners as well and that academic
publishing enter the real-time era of the
Internet. |
